Anthony, a business student at the Community College of Rhode Island, saw a lack of support for college-going veterans in the higher education system and so co-founded the RI Military Organization and serves as the corporation’s CEO. This organization has 4 main components: the RI Student Veterans Organization, a military support lounge at the TF Green Airport, a Military Youth Development Academy for at-risk teens, and a state military and veterans’ benefits Web page. His goal is to expand his organization to all 11 colleges and universities in Rhode Island.

Anthony Paolino, Community College of Rhode Island
I have always had a drive to serve others and work for the common good. But I never fully realized that I could go beyond volunteerism--that my opinion and hard work could influence policy decisions. My views changed when I sat in the office of one of my legislators in Washington, DC.
-Amanda Coffin, University of Maine at Farmington, Campus Compact student leader
