Katherine Bomkamp, a political science sophomore, has already addressed a serious medical condition among amputees. After witnessing the suffering of veterans at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Katherine conducted research into the causes of “phantom pain” among amputees. She then developed a new prosthetic device designed to eliminate this pain. Katherine seeks to inspire other students, especially young women, to be innovative and entrepreneurial problem-solvers.
