Tej Azad, Washington University

Tej Azad, a Washington University in St. Louis junior, is dedicated to addressing health disparities through the lens of education. As a leader for WashU H.O.P.E. (HIV/AIDS Outreach, Prevention, and Education), he strives to address the stigma surrounding HIV. Tej partnered with a medical student group to teach high school students about HIV biology, and works with a local HIV Youth Advocacy Committee (YAC).  This summer, he plans to work in the 21st Ward of St. Louis to implement a nutrition education program. Tej’s work with social justice has galvanized his decision to pursue a career in medicine.

Thanks for your continued outstanding leadership at Campus Compact. Your publications and programs are always top-notch. I sincerely appreciate all you have done for us in the trenches."
