Nicki Rose, a senior at the University of Kansas, is a strong advocate of equality in educational opportunities and programs to build strong families. Through her work with the Kansas African American Affairs Commission, she developed an online advocacy tool-kit to assist in educating others about the importance of advocating for positive change. Nicki has also used her time on the executive board of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and with various campus groups to educate others about leadership, advocacy, and the importance of community. Her commitment to systemic reform to the foster care system is evidenced through her work as intern and volunteer with Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A.), where she helps bring stability to children while raising awareness about the state of foster care. Nicki’s passion and devotion make her an outstanding civic leader. Her impressive record of achievement is a testament to her future success and contributions.
