Chad McFarlane, Community College of Rhode Island

Chad McFarlane is a General Studies student at the Community College of Rhode Island, seeking to transfer to Brown University’s Engineering Program. He is a U.S. Army veteran, deeply involved with our campus veterans, as well as being fully invested in the importance of civic engagement through various groups and organizations. He is a Scholarships for Service (SFS) Peer Mentor for a group of eight student veterans, presently working to develop a civic engagement training curriculum for SFS and our Student Veterans Organization, the latter providing a network of support for military veterans, their families, and supporters. Chad is a strategic thinker with savvy leadership skills. He is a tireless advocate for his fellow soldiers. 

Campus Compact's workshops have been extremely valuable. Faculty often become energized by the workshop content and bring that enthusiasm back to campus."
