Christopher Vance, Chandler-Gilbert Community College

Christopher Vance, is involved in environmental technology as a second year student at Chander-Gilbert Community College. He helped with designing and building of compost bins for the campuses Environmental Technology Center (ETC) and garden. He has also given presentations about compost to local elementary schools. He has been intimately involved in the Humanitarian Environment Action Team (HEAT) Club, serving as President. Chris has also volunteered at various campus events. His work through clubs, the ETC, and class work continues to motivate students, staff and the campus as a whole toward a greener and more environmentally friendly world.

Thanks to Campus Compact for all that you have done over the years to nurture the campus service and service-learning movement. When we started at St. A's 15 years ago there was a feeling among some campuses that we were seeing higher education's latest 'flash in the pan.' Instead it was the beginning of a revolution of ideas and relationships, and you guys have been fueling us all the way."
