Debra Horn, a junior at Missouri State University, is engaged in the community giving voice to those in the community who may not feel able to share their experiences or stories. Debra has worked with domestic violence survivors to navigate a complicated court system, and has conducted research on benefits of providing mentorship to victims so they can realize their personal goals. Further, she has worked with engaging international students, another population of individuals with voices that can often be marginalized. She has engaged international students with Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, an organization focusing on working with children and adults with disabilities. Debra’s involvement in the community has already made an impact and she is likely to become an outstanding community leader.

Campus Compact's workshops have been extremely valuable. Faculty often become energized by the workshop content and bring that enthusiasm back to campus.
