Rebecca Harris, Southern New Hampshire University

Becca’s involvement in service on campus began almost immediately upon her arrival four and a half years ago. She joined the staff of the Center for Community Engaged Learning within her first few weeks, and as a service learning assistant coordinator she quickly established herself as one of the most dependable and dedicated students on staff. Throughout the last four years Becca has been involved in every aspect of service on our campus as a service learning assistant coordinator, a service learning lead coordinator, a one-time projects lead coordinator, and as an alternative break trip coordinator. Becca is a passionate advocate and educator around social justice issues. She wants to explore the root causes of social problems and wants volunteers to understand why our community needs the services we’re providing. This year Becca leads our staff team that focuses on issues surrounding poverty. Her team planned events and awareness campaigns for our annual Hunger and Homelessness Week in the fall and then did it again for our first-ever Martin Luther King, Jr. Week of Service. Throughout her four years Becca has connected dozens of students to service organizations in our community and across the country. She will be deeply missed when she graduates, but her contributions to service at Southern New Hampshire University will be remembered.

Thanks for your continued outstanding leadership at Campus Compact. Your publications and programs are always top-notch. I sincerely appreciate all you have done for us in the trenches."

-William F. Moeller, Director, Center for Civic Education and Service, Florida State University
