Tommy Flanagan is a prime example of Pacific Lutheran University’s commitment to “educate for lives of thoughtful inquiry, service, leadership and care- for others, for their community and for the earth”. His curiosity, enthusiasm and commitment drive his involvement in community-based service and allow him to foster engagement among his peers. Tommy is instrumental in PLU’s commitment to President Obama’s interfaith and community service campus challenge, and his coordination of a service-based alternative spring break experience and his regular involvement with community agencies across the city prove him to be a true civic leader.
