Claire Curran, Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota

Claire Curran, a sophomore at Gustavus Adolphus College, is passionate about interfaith cooperation. Claire interned for the Interfaith Youth Core, a nonprofit building the interfaith movement across the country. She is the founder of MOSAIC, a student organization that affirms the dignity of all religious and nonreligious traditions through dialogue, education and service. Claire facilitates weekly interfaith discussions, campus-wide events and has represented Gustavus at interfaith conferences in Minneapolis, MN and Washington, DC. Claire plans on studying in India next fall to gain a better understanding of global issues and the role interfaith cooperation can play in creating solutions.

I have always had a drive to serve others and work for the common good. But I never fully realized that I could go beyond volunteerism--that my opinion and hard work could influence policy decisions. My views changed when I sat in the office of one of my legislators in Washington, DC."
