Jasmine Wilson, a sophomore at Langston University, is a student leader who is active in providing assistance to low-income families. Through her involvement with the Scholars Club and other student organizations on campus, Jasmine has participated in numerous activities designed to assist low-income families in the Langston community. Her outstanding efforts have been recognized by her peers, faculty/staff, and community leaders.

I have always had a drive to serve others and work for the common good. But I never fully realized that I could go beyond volunteerism--that my opinion and hard work could influence policy decisions. My views changed when I sat in the office of one of my legislators in Washington, DC.
