Katelyn Moga, Westminster College, Pennsylvania

Katelyn Moga, a sophomore at Westminster College, is a student leader making contributions to both campus and community. She is a student trustee on the Westminster College Board of Trustees and is an active advocate for the college. Katelyn led a student lobbying effort to preserve financial aid appropriations, organizing meetings with state legislators to help them understand the impact of cuts on the underserved student population. She is also active as the Regional Coordinator for Americans for Informed Democracy and in Organizing for America, efforts to increase awareness of global issues and involve more people in dialogue and civic participation.

The Swearer Award has provided me with such an incredible venue for advocacy. At Penn, I've had the chance to speak to faculty, students, and alumni who are interested more than ever in supporting the civic mission of higher education."

-Mei Elansary, University of Pennsylvania, recipient of Campus Compact's Swearer Student Humanitarian Award
