Leeann Danley, Waynesburg University, Pennsylvania

Leeann Danley, a junior Education major at Waynesburg University, is passionate about service and has immersed herself in that capacity since her freshman year.  As a Bonner Scholar, she serves the university’s local community through St. Ann’s Church’s community dinners, Bowlby Library, and World Vision.  She has taken advantage of missions trips, sacrificing her semester breaks to serve in our country and internationally.  She has been a champion and advocate to end hunger issues in the United States.  She exemplifies the service leader role that is integral to a Waynesburg education.

The Swearer Award has provided me with such an incredible venue for advocacy. At Penn, I've had the chance to speak to faculty, students, and alumni who are interested more than ever in supporting the civic mission of higher education."

-Mei Elansary, University of Pennsylvania, recipient of Campus Compact's Swearer Student Humanitarian Award
