Robert Ashton has been volunteering with Camp No Limits since 2008. This non-profit organization addresses the needs of children with limb loss by optimizing their functional independence. Robert works with campers with lower extremity limb loss assisting them through such adapted recreational activities as learning to ride bikes and swim, strength training, balance, tying shoes, dressing, typing and obstacle courses. He expresses that there is nothing more inspiring than a child whose biggest goal is to ride a bike to “fit in”. Robert feels the most gratifying experiences are through the parent and camper support groups, which offer opportunities for insight and options for increasing community awareness through story sharing. Robert’s commitment to Camp No Limits has strengthened his passion for the field of physical therapy.
