At Roger Williams University, Ande Diaz directs the Intercultural Center's efforts to support and challenge students and members of the broader campus community to incorporate intercultural learning into their lives as global citizens. Ande was formerly an evaluation consultant at Tufts University, a student affairs dean at Princeton, and assistant director of Career Services at Harvard. Trained by the Harvard Mediation Service, Ande has conducted mediations on harassment and helped launch the first campus application of the Sustained Dialogue, a process to transform conflicting relationships. In addition to facilitating workshops on diversity, she coaches students of color and first generation college students on how to utilize resources as they navigate the challenges of higher education, and helps job seekers identify "gay-friendly" workplaces. Ande is currently completing a dissertation on the civic outcomes in graduates of college dialogue initiatives; her other personal and scholarly passion is Black and Latino alliance building. Her Ph.D. will be in Human and Organizational Development at the Fielding Graduate University. She also holds a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University, an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts. She wrote The Harvard College Guide to Careers in Public Service, which advocates for a public service ethos across employment sectors. Visit www.andediazconsulting.com for more information.
