Brief Biography:
Carrie Williams Howe has been practicing and studying service-learning since 2002 through scholarship, professional positions, and university teaching. A graduate of the University of Vermont Master's program in Higher Education and Student Affairs, Carrie's areas of expertise include curriculum development, reflection, international service-learning, experiential education, and strategic planning for community engagement. Well-versed in service-learning theory and implementation, Carrie has extensive experience in offering training on this topic to a wide variety of audiences — from faculty members, to student teaching assistants, to K-12 educators. She also teaches service-learning courses herself (in nonprofit theory and civic leadership) and leads international service-learning workshops.
