Brief Biography:
Dr. Catherine Ludlum Foos, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Indiana University East, holds degrees from Boston College and Northwestern University. Dr. Foos has been facilitating introductory and intermediate-level workshops on academic service-learning since 1996 and she is the co-editor of Indiana Campus Compact's Service-Learning Workshop Curriculum Guide. Popular workshop topics include service-learning course design and development, designing and evaluating reflection activities, and documenting service-learning and community engagement for tenure and promotion. Dr. Foos' disciplinary interests include ethics and social and political philosophy, and she has published on the ethical and political implications of service-learning in the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning, AAHE's Service-Learning in the Disciplines series, and Humanity and Society.
