ServiceWorld

ServiceWorld envisions a world in which volunteer service by people of all nations is a common strategy in meeting pressing challenges in education, health, the environment, agriculture, and more. They seek to foster a culture of international service and innovation, and a heightened sense of compassion across borders that will bring Americans and volunteers of different countries, cultures, races, ethnicities, and religious beliefs together in common purposes. They want to encourage more individuals and organizations to cooperate in order to increase prosperity, strengthen economies, implement more informed foreign policies in all nations, and lay a foundation on which governments and civil society can build a more peaceful, healthy and secure world.

Campus Compact is a signatory to the ServiceWorld Declaration, which may be found at: http://ourserviceworld.org/take-action/ where you may also sign the Declaration.

ServiceWorld: Strategies for the Future of International Volunteer Service

I have always had a drive to serve others and work for the common good. But I never fully realized that I could go beyond volunteerism--that my opinion and hard work could influence policy decisions. My views changed when I sat in the office of one of my legislators in Washington, DC."
