Some college students are working with one local city to promote shopping locally.
The West Virginia Campus Compact Program connects colleges and cities. College professors submit classes where they want students to have real world experience and cities submit things they want help with. The projects can range from art to marketing and technology.
Before I started working in community service-learning, I was one of those people who didn't have much of a social conscience. Now all of that has changed, and I say, 'Put me in the trenches to do the real work to make a difference.'
