The state is using an existing program – Ready Campus created by Pennsylvania colleges – as a model for its crisis management and preparedness model. The model involves the campus, along with interaction and partnerships with its community, when preparing and responding to a crisis. “The program has been loaned to us by Pennsylvania, and we’re tweaking it for our own use,” said Stuart Stewart, executive director of Louisiana Campus Compact, which will oversee the program. “We’re trying to build a safer, smarter Louisiana.”
