East Lansing — The Michigan Campus Compact recognized five Michigan State University students for their dedication and commitment to community service during the 11th annual Outstanding Student Service Awards program April 14.
Each year, the organization rewards students from its member colleges and universities across the state for their commitment to service learning and civic engagement.
The experience of interacting with some of the [homeless] people on the streets was an eye-opener. You leave those types of experiences with a mix of emotions--hope, disgust, love, grief--but I always leave motivated to do more.
