Nineteen Olivet College students and two staff members recently spent a weekend constructing a home for a low-income family near Pittsburgh, Pa….In one full day of work, the students were able to completely rough in the interior and exterior walls of a 1,000-square-foot, three-bedroom home….

Rev. Mike Fales, director of service learning and campus ministries, coordinated the trip. Assisting Fales was Jean Paul Cortes, a 2009 Olivet graduate who now serves as the college’s Michigan Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer.
