Campus Compact for New Hampshire
NH College and University Presidents Recognize Leaders in Community Service
WHAT: This luncheon event highlights the outstanding efforts made by hundreds of students, faculty and community partners in areas of civic engagement, service learning and community service. Annually, more than 23,000 student volunteers from New Hampshire’s colleges and universities serve more than 250,000 hours in local communities at a value of 4.5 million dollars.
Presidents from New Hampshire colleges and universities present three separate awards to each of the campuses. The ‘Leadership Award’ is given to students who have made outstanding contributions to civic engagement; the ‘Good Steward Award’ is given to faculty contributing professional expertise in service to the wider community; and the ‘Community Partner Award’ is given to an organization that has enhanced the quality of life in the community. A panel discussion among college students and faculty on the impact service learning has had on them will precede the award presentation.
