With the advent of welfare reform, many low-income single mothers face an uncertain future. Niagara University, a small school in western New York, has teamed up with two community organizations to provide in-depth job training and a business incubator program for five single mothers. These five women will participate in an 18-month series of classes offered by students and faculty providing training in accounting, business management, and computer literacy. Over the eighteen months, the women will develop business plans and establish their own businesses.
