The goal of the partnership between Shepard s Green Acres Middle School and North Carolina Central University is to teach middle school students to be socially conscious entrepreneurs by working with them to start up and maintain a successful landscaping business and bookstore. In order to achieve such a formidable task, the partnership connects into a web of resources at the university, with managers from the bookstore, students from the school of business, and service-learning classes from the biology and political science departments taking part in the extensive collaboration.
