Neighborhood Outreach Inc. was started by the University of Southern California, but now exists as an independent agency located in the surrounding community. By funding this off-campus agency, USC establishes its commitment not just to serve the community, but to work in partnership with it. The agency, funded entirely through donations from USC faculty and staff, supports a variety of campus-community partnerships. One children s safety program spawned by the agency is now a national model for community building through safety initiatives.
