Oklahoma City Community College has developed a program that links the strengths of Academic Affairs with those of Student Affairs. The result is a program that helps faculty integrate Service-Learning into their courses while helping to build community assets and Co-Curricular programs.

The Student Life Service-Learning Center coordinates with community partners to find meaningful ways in which service can be integrated into courses. Faculty use the center as a resource. We also provide faculty with tools, and all infrastructure needed to make Service-Learning integration as easy and as meaningful as possible.

Much of my work in service-learning and community engagement has come as a result of the many excellent resources and materials generated by Campus Compact. When I first became the Founding Director of CSUSB's CUP [Community-University Partnership Institute], I relied almost exclusively on the resources of Campus Compact in designing, planning, and implementing our actions."
