A university presidency can serve as a pulpit for any number of messages. Robert Corrigan, President of San Francisco State University, has used his pulpit to preach the word of campus leadership in the community. President Corrigan has acted as an outspoken advocate for higher education to play a leadership role in renewing American communities. Holding a number of leadership positions in the community, including national chair of the America Reads program, President Corrigan acts as both a leader and advocate for universities involvement in social change.
