Ashbrook Scholar Program

Ashland University - OH, Ohio
President: G. WILLIAM BENZ

Ashland University has a strong commitment to broaden and deepen a student s thinking about public affairs and American politics and this commitment is met through the Ashbrook Center. This top-rated and rigorous academic program challenges students to examine political ideas through challenging coursework and private seminars with the leading political actors of our time.

One of the highlights of the Ashbrook Center is the John M. Ashbrook Memorial Dinner where students have the opportunity to attend a private, off-the-record discussion with the evening s distinguished speaker. Speakers that have visited Ashland University include:

Lamar Alexander (1992) Howard Baker (1987) Bill Bennett (1988)
George Bush (1984) Dick Cheney (1991) Steve Forbes (1996)
Charlton Heston (1995) Henry Kissinger (1997) Edwin Meese III (1985)
Colin Powell (1994) Dan Quayle (1989) Ronald Reagan (1983)
