The University, under the leadership of Dr. Barbara Mieras, has committed itself to partner with the area school system to develop opportunities for new career and educational pathways in the areas of math, science, and engineering for women and minorities. In addition to working with students in this pre-college engineering program, the University has made a commitment to retrain the middle school and high school faculty to develop their technology skills to that they can, in turn, do a better job of teaching their students.
