Am I Missing Something?

http://www.representativedemocracy.org/repdem_documents/ADTannouncement.htm

As part of a broad effort to foster stronger youth dialogue on the workings of representative democracy, The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and its Trust for Representative Democracy, with the Alliance for Representative Democracy, is launching a new national public service campaign entitled Am I Missing Something?

The campaign features students tackling misconceptions about representative democracy by enumerating the benefits of participation, illustrating how complex issues require compromise, and discovering why diverse interests all having a voice in the democratic process is important. Am I Missing Something? is part of a larger campaign geared toward engaging the emerging generation in a dialogue about the workings of representative democracy.

My own service-learning experience helped me to change my undergraduate major to social work. As a student worker with the program, I gained so many skills that helped me to be successful as a social worker and change agent after graduation. Now I help student workers develop these same skills and find the same passion for creating positive change that I have felt."
