The purpose of this statement is to articulate the commitment of higher education to its civic purposes. The statement was reviewed, refined, and endorsed at a Presidents’ Leadership Colloquium convened by Campus Compact and the American Council on Education in July 1999.

Presidents’ Declaration on the Civic Responsibility of Higher Education
We want to develop a student leadership program to provide support to our local agencies with the majority of work being done recruiting campus organizations to serve at various sites. The Campus Compact material was the most useful resource thus far. Thank you!
