The Coordinator of Community-Based Learning at San Diego State University develops, plans, publicizes and coordinates a community-based learning program that promotes partnerships with the community by actively working with both campus and community constituencies. Current programs include Community Partnership Day, University Seminar Projects, the Alternative Spring Break Program, National Volunteer Week Projects, the Radin Scholars Community Service Program and the Community Advocacy Program. Oversee the CSU Service-Learning Curriculum Development and Infrastructure Initiative and CSU Learn and Serve Grant Program. Current initiatives include
the development of eleven new service-learning courses, the service-learning faculty fellows program, and service-learning workshops and professional development for faculty. Day to day coordination of the following components of the Center: intensive and on-going community service opportunities, programs and activities, CCBSL web site, a clearinghouse of course curriculum, resource library, and a database of community partners. The Coordinator manages requests for funding to public institutions and private organizations to fund service-learning initiatives on campus; assists with short and long-term strategic planning for the Center and its facilities; oversees the selection and supervision of professional and student
staff.
