Consistent with the University’s mission and strategic plan, the Director of Service Learning provides leadership in developing and managing community partnerships, curricular and co-curricular service learning initiatives and civic engagement activities, involving students, faculty, and staff.
Specific responsibilities include:
- the development, supervision and management of the Service Learning Center; the supervision of community partnerships and placements;
- the supervision of student, graduate student and professional staff;
- the leadership and direction in policy development and annual goals and objectives;
- the assessment of programs, services, and outcomes; the collaboration with faculty in the development and evaluation of curricular service-learning;
- the development and management of operational and grant funding;
- the collaboration on research related to civic engagement, service learning, and student development;
- helping to educate the university community about service-learning concepts and methodology;
- the leadership in developing and maintaining an environment that is consistent with the spirit and intent of the university mission statement.
