Project Coordinator, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, North Adams, MA

The Project Coordinator builds on the ongoing work to advance appreciation of difference among high school and college students, as well as in the community. The Coordinator manages a Student Diversity Team who plans activities, offers training and conducts collaborative programs. Along with the team, the Coordinator conducts appropriate programs and activities such as diversity games, hunger banquets and diversity day programs.Programs involve North Adams Schools, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and the North Adams Community.

Specific duties include:

  • the recruitment of students at both Drury High School and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts to join the Student Diversity Team;
  • the creation a welcoming inclusive environment in the office area assigned to the project; the collaboration with other groups on all projects and activities as appropriate;
  • service on the College Diversity Committee and Program Advisory Group; researching of appropriate consultants, programs, conferences and educational supplies and recommendations of purchases and contracts as needed;
  • leadership of programs and other educational experiences; the integration of activities with service as appropriate.
