The Center for Learning for Organized Volunteer Efforts offers a continuum of service-learning and volunteerism opportunities for University of West Florida students. The Service-learning Coordinator has primary duties with the coordination of recruitment, orientation and tracking of individual, group and classroom service links as a part of the course work in selected classes. These placements must meet real and identified community needs and offer both community members and students an opportunity to further understand the conditions that give rise to the need for the service and empower both populations to effect social change. In addition, the Service-learning Coordinator provides information to prospective community service learners, solves problems and assures effective communication between community partners, faculty and service-learners. The Service-learning Coordinator works together with the Volunteer Coordinator and reports to the Director.
