Rhode Island Campus Compact (RICC) is a statewide coalition of colleges and universities committed to teaching the values of civic engagement and public leadership. Rhode Island Campus Compact actively promotes public and community service as vital components of higher education. Through innovative student, faculty and institutional participation in service, higher education can meet its public trust to inspire an active, responsible and committed citizenry while helping to address community needs. RICC encourages civic discourse and debate and assists higher education institutions in the creation of partnerships with the community.

The Service Nation Summit will bring together young Americans and 500 leaders from every sector of American life to craft and endorse a Declaration of Service. National Campus Compact is a member of the organizing committee.

AmeriCorps Opening Day, October 18, 2008
The RI Service Alliance will sponsor the annual statewide gathering for all AmeriCorps programs held at the Imperial Room, One Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI.
The event will take place from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Learn & Serve America Challenge, October 6-12, 2008
The Challenge is a week-long series of events designed to build awareness and generate support for service-learning. Campus Compact is partnering with the National Service-Learning Partnership, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and others to get the word out about the Challenge.
