Education Award Information
After successfully completing your term of service, SFS AmeriCorps members who are enrolled in the National Service Trust are eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. You can use your Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to pay education costs at qualified institutions of higher education, for educational training, or to repay qualified student loans. The award is $1,000 for a year of 300 hour term of service. You can access the award in full and part, and have up to seven years after your term of service has ended to claim the award. Some institutions of higher education also match AmeriCorps Education awards. The levels of matching vary by institution so we recommend contacting them individually for more information.
