Help send books to children in Africa!
Books For Africa is the largest shipper of donated text and library books to the African continent. Last year alone we shipped nearly 3 million books to 24 African nations but there are more than 370 million children in Africa sometimes sharing books at a rate of one per every ten children. Our mission is to end the book famine in Africa!
Help Books For Africa by volunteering with us 5-10 hours/week on your campus:
-organize volunteers
-coordinate simple and effective fundraisers
-collect unwanted books around campus during the end of semester buyback
We are looking for excited, committed, students with a passion for helping Africa and supporting literacy. Volunteers will have the full support, resources, and dedication of the Books For Africa Campus Outreach Director as well as our partner organization Better World Books. Skill-sets learned will be invaluable for job applications after college such as fundraising, project management, people management, marketing/advertising, organizing/advocacy, and more!
The position is based on-campus though fundraisers can extend to the greater community. We are looking to have volunteers start right away in September-October and stay on as the Books For Africa Campus Coordinator through the end of the term in December/January.
A Books For Africa Campus Coordinator can have a tremendous impact: just $5 raised can pay to ship 10 books to the African continent!
