Personal Statement

Within my first quarter, I eagerly joined the Associated Students of the University of Washington Bothell as the Director of Legislative Affairs. I coordinated voter engagement drives on campus, getting nearly 300 students to pledge to vote in the elections and surveyed hundreds of students to build the legislative agenda. I spent the legislative session in the capital of the state of Washington to lobby full-time for students, and I testified nearly a dozen times to ensure that the student perspective was being considered. I worked on writing and amending Washington state laws to address the concerns of student food insecurity, housing insecurity, and college affordability. Outside of my student government role, I played a crucial part in the reformation of the United States Student Association, national student-led organization, bringing student voices back to the national level. I chaired the Outreach Committee ahead of the official charter passage during their National Legislative Conference in March 2025. I was also the Vice President of Communications for the Washington Student Association, furthering my passion for higher education affordability and accessibility.
