Alyssa Melby has served as St. Olaf’s Program Director for Academic Civic Engagement (ACE) and Community Based Work Study (CBWS) since Fall 2017. She is responsible for connecting faculty and their courses with community organizations and priorities to make a positive impact for students and the local community; facilitating faculty professional development on community-engaged teaching strategies and course development; program assessment; managing the CBWS program, including recruitment and hiring, student professional development, and federal guideline compliance; coordinating the STO Votes election engagement initiative, and through both ACE and CBWS building and maintaining effective community partnerships, largely within Northfield and Rice County.

In the community, she serves on the board of directors for the Healthy Community Initiative and League of Women Voters-Northfield. She is a former community partner of higher education institutions, having previously worked in arts management and arts education for 12 years. She holds an MA in Theater Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in English and Theater from the University of MN, Morris.

Jennifer M. Lujan is an experienced higher education leader with 18 years of experience at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where she directs the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). In this role, she leads strategic initiatives that advance UTEP’s mission to embed academic-based community engagement across teaching, research, and institutional practice.

Ms. Lujan has a proven track record in building cross-sector partnerships, managing grant-funded programs, and driving innovation in community-engaged scholarship. She has cultivated sustainable collaborations that strengthen student success, foster civic leadership, and address critical community priorities.

A recognized leader in the national community engagement field, she serves on the board of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium and previously served as president of the Women’s Fund of El Paso. Ms. Lujan holds both a BA and MEd from UTEP and is deeply committed to advancing equity-focused, collaborative models that connect higher education with community impact.

Markya Reed

Markya Reed is a student affairs professional at Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. candidate in education at Morgan State University. She’s passionate about bringing people together – students, faculty, staff, and administrators – to strengthen civic engagement initiatives and create cultures of constructive dialogue. Before her work in higher ed, Markya served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica (2018-2020), where she worked alongside communities to develop sustainable youth programs focused on enhancing student voice and developing critical life skills.

As a CoGen Impact Fellow, she works to transform higher education into a nexus for intergenerational connection and collaboration.

Lindsey Beagley is a national leader in reimagining the role of higher education in an aging society. As Senior Director of Lifelong University Engagement at Arizona State University (ASU), she advances intergenerational learning models that embed older adults into the fabric of the university. Her work is centered on creating inclusive, multigenerational environments where learners of all ages can thrive—most notably through initiatives like Mirabella at ASU, the nation's first certified University-based Retirement Community.

A Phoenix native and proud triple Sun Devil, Beagley holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish, a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management, and is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Innovation. Her career reflects a deep commitment to connecting generations in mutually beneficial ways to strengthen community resilience, beginning with service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras (2006–2008) and later founding HomeShare Arizona, which helped older homeowners rent out a room in their home to college students.

Beagley’s leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including the 2025 Intergenerational Innovation Award from Generations United, the 2024 Best Practices Award and 2023 Innovation Award from Leading Age Arizona, and inclusion in the Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list in 2021. Her work has been featured in international news outlets including Financial Times, The Economist, PBS Newshour, BBC Worldwide, AARP, Forbes, Kiplinger, and the New York Times.

She is passionate about designing systems that engage and connect people across the life course, and leveraging the full capacity of universities to create lifelong learners.

Matt Van Hoose serves as Associate Vice President of Global, Career, and Community-Based Learning at Goucher College, where he is also an Assistant Professor of Anthropology. In his current role, Matt has been fortunate to lead the formation of a new university retirement community with Edenwald Retirement Community, drawing on the ethos and resources of Goucher's Community-Based Learning office.

Matt has facilitated connections between higher education and community partners throughout his career in higher education, including in previous roles at Howard Community College, the National Humanities Alliance, Central Carolina Community College, and the Indiana University Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.

Ru R is a student in Human Services at the College of DuPage, an age-diverse public community college and minority-serving institution in Illinois. As a CoGen Impact Fellow, she works to amplify student perspectives and increase student engagement across the Campus CoGenerate Affinity Network. The goal: to harness the power of cogenerational social capital to foster connection and expand opportunity in higher education settings.

Toni Monette

Toni Monette is the Assistant Director of the Office of Engagement at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and considers herself to be a servant leader. In her role she oversees campus and community co-created partnerships, student engagement pipelines, and civic engagement. She is also serving her second term on the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWV) national board as secretary. Additionally, she serves LWV as co-chair of the National Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

She earned her bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in Spanish and is completing a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in Public Policy at UNO. She is also an active member of her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where she is the Vice Chair of Zetas in Action, a national 501c4, whose mission is to advocate on public policy issues around social, health, and economic justice. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and is a poetry teaching artist for the Nebraska Writers Collective.

Vivi Caleffi Prichard is dedicated to building robust communities and promoting collaborative learning, tackling higher education obstacles via innovative partnerships and shared insights. Vivi serves Chemeketa Community College as the Associate Vice President of Culture and Community. With an MBA, she received her Bachelor's in Communications from Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas in Brazil. Driven by a commitment to education, she is currently a doctoral student in Education Leadership and Innovation at Arizona State University, enhancing her ability to drive systemic advancements and influence the future of educational environments.

Vivi’s personal history and family have shaped her dedication to the enhancement of her community. She has served in numerous boards and volunteers for causes that reflect her strong interest in equity, justice, civic engagement, and the environment.
