Jennifer M. Lujan

Jennifer M. Lujan is an experienced higher education leader with 18 years of experience at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where she directs the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). In this role, she leads strategic initiatives that advance UTEP’s mission to embed academic-based community engagement across teaching, research, and institutional practice.
Ms. Lujan has a proven track record in building cross-sector partnerships, managing grant-funded programs, and driving innovation in community-engaged scholarship. She has cultivated sustainable collaborations that strengthen student success, foster civic leadership, and address critical community priorities.
A recognized leader in the national community engagement field, she serves on the board of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium and previously served as president of the Women’s Fund of El Paso. Ms. Lujan holds both a BA and MEd from UTEP and is deeply committed to advancing equity-focused, collaborative models that connect higher education with community impact.
