Campus Compact EnviroCorps (CCEC) will place teams of AmeriCorps members at U.S. colleges and universities to build capacity to increase energy efficiency, organize nature conservation projects, and implement environmental education events in local communities.
Host site benefits
- Access to a motivated and mobilized team of AmeriCorps members who can increase capacity on campus and in your community around environmental stewardship, energy efficiency, and nature conservation.
- Receive resources (time and expertise) to be at the vanguard of innovative civic engagement practices to address community problems and environmental stewardship.
- Have the opportunity to network, collaborate, and resource share with other environmental leaders and host site campuses and regions.
- Make a positive difference on campus and in your community.
Host site responsibilities
- Assign a host site supervisor to support a team of AmeriCorps members (typically 2-3/hrs of supervision per week).
- Help recruit members, including current and former students, to serve at your host site.
- Approve AmeriCorps member hours, provide day-to-day support around community building and projects, providing supplemental training including orienting members to your campus, campus protocols, and the community.
- Document in-kind contributions and contribute to progress and member evaluation reports.
- Attend host site supervisor training and maintain regular communication with Campus Compact.
- Adhere to AmeriCorps policies, including prohibited activities, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Sign a Memorandum of Agreement and ensure payment of any CCEC host site fees to assist with member training and program implementation.
Fee structure
Host site fees are paid to Campus Compact to help provide support for CCEC member orientation, ongoing trainings, professional development, member recognition/gear items, and basic environmental education event materials that are critical to helping meet the cost share requirement from AmeriCorps. We are currently only accepting host site applications for the Summer 2026 service term. For Summer 2026, host site fees are charged at a per member cost, starting at $500 for one member, with the cost per member decreasing with additional members. Additionally, you must provide each Minimum-time member with a direct financial benefit valued at $500 or more. Please see our Request for Proposals for more information.
How to apply
To become a host site, your institution must be a member of Campus Compact. We also encourage all potential host sites to attend a host site information session.
- Review the Request for Proposals document to learn more about program requirements, timelines, and more.
- Complete a CCEC host site application. The application will require your institution to answer questions regarding your proposed project and capacity to support AmeriCorps members.
