About Campus Champions
Campus Champions are the primary point of connection between their institution and Campus Compact. Member institutions are encouraged to designate one Campus Champion each year.
The role isn't tied to a specific title or office. Campus Champions can sit anywhere in an institution. What matters is your energy, your relationships, and your ability to get people moving! As a Campus Champion, you're the person who rounds up a group of faculty for a training, gets colleagues excited about obtaining a new credential, organizes a group to attend the annual conference, and makes sure students know about opportunities that could change their trajectories.
Campus Champions aren't just contacts; they are coalition builders on their respective campuses.
What Campus Champions do
The Campus Champion role is simple to describe. The impact is harder to measure. As a Campus Champion, you will:
- Serve as the primary liaison from your campus to Campus Compact
- Connect colleagues and students to programs, resources, credentials, and opportunities
- Attend events (including Campus Champion meet-ups) and get others excited about attending too
- Participate in onboarding and regular check-ins with the Membership team
- Partner with us to strengthen the relationship between your institution and the coalition
In return, Campus Champions receive dedicated training, early access to new initiatives, and a direct line to the Campus Compact Membership team.
Every new Champion starts here. These steps set the foundation for everything that follows — for you, your colleagues, and your campus.
- Confirm your designation as the Campus Champion with your leadership
- Update your institutional contacts
- Identify 2-3 events, programs, or opportunities to pursue
- Sign up for our newsletter and invite colleagues to do the same
