AmeriCorps members engage in capacity building and direct service work that mobilizes students, faculty, and staff to tackle pressing challenges.

Transformational student experiences
Educating students to be active and informed community members is central to all of our programming. We support students as they develop leadership skills, strategies for engagement, public applications of academic knowledge, and increased civic participation.
Newman Civic Fellowship
A year-long program that recognizes and supports student public problem solvers at Campus Compact member institutions. Fellows are nominated by their president or chancellor based on their potential for public leadership and their work with communities.
Student Design Fellows
A commitment to a two-year, student-led design process. Student Design Fellows will collaborate closely with Campus Compact staff, member campuses, and national partners to shape student civic leadership development.
Pathways of Public Service and Civic Engagement
This framework and survey aim to advance our understanding of students’ interests and predispositions regarding approaches to social change, helping improve the quality of student programming, understand their needs and desires over time.
AmeriCorps VISTA
Placing AmeriCorps members for year-long terms of service at colleges and universities and with their community partners. Members build capacity for their host sites, expand and improve programming, and ultimately help fulfill the public purposes of higher education.
Campus Compact EnviroCorps
A nationwide AmeriCorps program dedicated to campus-based environmental stewardship by building the capacity of campuses and their community partners to create meaningful change.

Exploring the ways colleges and universities can engage with and advance U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development initiatives to create inclusive, sustainable, and thriving communities.
Democracy Inventory Project
A new joint planning effort led by the American Association of Colleges & Universities and Campus Compact to organize collective democratic engagement efforts nationally.
Campus Museums of Service
Offering tools for colleges and universities to create exhibitions recognizing and honoring community engagement and service on campuses and in communities.
